Hayward Spanish Church Opens Center of Hope to Serve Local Community

Hayward, california– a five- vision came to life in October as the Hayward Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church opened its new Center of Hope, a community outreach center aimed at meeting practical needs and fostering connection. The project was led by Pastor Stennet Nash and supported by church leaders Daniel Javes, Miriam Solman, Mary Len and Raquel Javes , along with a team of dedicated volunteers. The funding was provided by the Northern California Conference of Seventh Day Adventists.

The center of Hope will offer a variety of services including a food bank, legal assistance, and referrals to partner organizations. Health initiatives such as nature walks, plant-based cooking classes and health fairs are also planned to promote wellness in the local community. A digital library will provide educational and personal development resources, while after-school tutoring will support academic growth in youth.

In addition, the Center will launch adult English literacy and English as a Second Language ( ESL) classes to help community members build communication skills and find sustainable employment. Leaders say these programs reflect the church’s mission to serve the whole person—physically, mentality, and spiritually.

“This is not just a program— it’s part of our church and our mission to our community“ Nash said. During the dedication ceremony, Northern California Conference Marc Woodson praised the effort, calling the center “ a transformative blessing” and a reflection of Christ’s compassion and action.

Importantly, you do not need to be a member of the church or Seventh-Day Adventist Faith to receive services from The Center of Hope. The center is open to all members of the community, regardless of religious affiliation.

The center of Hope is located at 22117 Meekland Avenue,Hayward,CA and it can be reached at (510)-581-1456 for more information.
