The Hayward High School track and field teams had a busy yet exhilarating 2025 season. They only began the season in March with a meet at Berkeley High School. After that, there would be a flurry of meets all through the months of March and April, including those important ones against Mt. Eden and Tennyson.

These meets helped the athletes to get better at running, jumping, and throwing. The season ended with the WACC Championships held on the very track laid down at Hayward High. What a big event it was, and how exciting it was to have it hosted by the school! Many schools showed up to compete, and Hayward’s athletes really put up their best effort. Though final results are not known to us, the team showed a lot of grit and growth all throughout this season.

The coaches, in a way, had an extremely hard task to bring out the best in the athletes. Head coach, Kristy Prasad, who also happened to be the Athletic Director of the school, had the assistance of other coaches, including centers like Coach Lorenzo Jimenez, Coach Sean Pingree, Coach Jeanine Holmlund, and Coach Ben Fano, who happens to be the football coach as well! They had their hands in every event, some worked long-distance runners, and some worked with jumpers. With their support and training, the athletes learned and got stronger during the present season.
